If you were to take a look in my kitchen today you would find most of the items from my Master Grocery List! And that’s the point… I use this list as an inventory checklist which helps me keep stock and be prepared as I try to keep my kitchen running smoothly and efficiently.
This Master Grocery List is especially helpful when I’m ready to create my shopping list for the week. It’s a handy reference for all the items I need to prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks. The list also includes a few dinner staples that I like to keep on hand.
I’ll quickly scan my Master Grocery List and jot down (on a piece of scrap paper) all the items I’m getting low on or need. I take a look at the dinner meals I plan to make, plus any other specific recipes, and add all those ingredients, that I need, to my list as well. Voila… my shopping list is ready in less than 15 minutes!
My weekly shopping list (for Publix) tends to be short and concise, generally consisting of fresh produce, eggs, deli meats, milk, etc., plus a few special ingredients for recipes. I’m able to stock up on several of the items from my Master Grocery List when I drop in to other stores such as Costco Wholesale, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Target. I even buy a few items from Amazon.
Occasionally I’ll go onto the computer, where I have this list saved, and update or modify it. I protect this Master List in a sheet protector and store it in my meal planning folder.
Creating your own Master Grocery List is super easy! Just think about the items you need to keep your pantry, fridge and freezer stocked and ready for all your meals and snacks! Or, make it easy on yourself and start by using mine…
