3-Ingredient Salsa Chicken

Tender chicken smothered with salsa and cheese. It doesn't get much easier than this!

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, (4-5 ounces each)
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese


  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray 13x9 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or line with aluminum foil for easy clean-up.
    Place chicken breasts in baking dish and pour or spoon Salsa over the top of chicken, careful not to touch raw chicken with spoon.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken breasts. (4 oz breasts cook up quickly... 15 minutes total).
  • During the last 5 minutes of baking remove chicken from the oven, sprinkle evenly with cheese and continue baking about 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and chicken is no longer pink (165 F with thermometer).

Recipe Notes

*On The Side: Serve with one or two sides such as frozen microwaveable mixed veggies, corn, green beans, or broccoli, a salad, black beans, rice or quinoa, or tortilla chips.
*Cheese: Buy pre-shredded cheese or a block of cheese to shred yourself. 
*Adjust Servings: Bake as many chicken breasts as you want/need using as much salsa or cheese as desired.
*Variations: Try different types of salsa and cheese, i.e. Salsa Verde and Pepper Jack Cheese.
